Strategic Planning

AccountAbility helps companies develop an approach to sustainable development which is aligned to business strategy, rather than driven by responsiveness to external scrutiny. We provide high-level support for strategy review and development processes through:

  • Strategic review and ‘road map’: We assess and comment on existing strategic plans and documents, benchmarking these against best practice and the company's own aspirations for marrying sustainability and business performance. We work with your leadership team to develop an integrated strategy and road map for implementation.
  • Facilitating learning: On-site workshops which bring together relevant people from across the company to integrate understanding of sustainable development related risks and opportunities with business thinking.
  • Ongoing mentoring and support to the leadership team as they implement long term strategies for excellence in corporate responsiblity and long term business performance.

Client examples

  • Banesco Banco Universal
AccountAbility is supporting Banesco Banco Universal to to improve its reporting and assurance of its sustainability policies, commitments, and performance. Banesco Banco Universal wishes to develop a ‘performance-based’ approach to assurance. This goes beyond simply driving improvements in the technical quality of assurance, to developing an effective and prioritised approach that is outcome-oriented, and is connected to its core business strategy.
  • Microsoft
AccountAbility is working with Microsoft on a number of strategic and operational engagements. As part of an expert advisory group, we are inputting on the development of socio-economic metrics. We are also helping to develop another panel to debate public policy dilemmas associated with the impact of e-technology on society, looking at key trends such as the aging population, and the threats of crime and terrorism.
  • Novo Nordisk
AccountAbility is mentoring the leadership team to support their strategic review of Novo’s stakeholder relations department. This involves both, helping to build the competency of the team to meet new challenges and working with it to identify and develop strategies to address emerging ‘hot topics’.
